Kane Garden

Boardworks is stoked to add Kane Garden, and shaper, Stu Kenson to our family of surfboard shapers and designers. Stu started surfing in 1969 and turned his devotion to the sport into a professional career as both a surfer, builder, and shaper. He built his first board in 1972 and started working professionally in 1987 with his own label Evening glass; he later went on the lead design programs for Weber Surfboards, Rusty Surfboards, and Joel Tudor Designs. With his growing reputation as a shaper and designer throughout the nineties, Stu built boards for top professional surfers such as Joel Tudor, Rochelle Ballard, Kevin Connelly, and Saxon Boucher and continues to work with the best young upcoming surfers in the San Diego area. Stu also excelled as a professional surfer from 1985 Ð 1995 as one of the top rated professional longboarders as well as a reputation for his speedy top down surfing riding shortboards too. Vertical surfing is his forte and the board designs he brings to Kane Garden reflects his commitment to high-performance surfing.

"Many things are changing in the surfboard market these days. New, high tech materials are enhancing the surfing experience. You can be sure that as new products become available, we will test them all and filter out the junk. The ones that work will continue to be developed and refined as we work to build better boards and provide our customers with amazing results.

We encourage our customers to explore, expand and get creative about how they want to ride, and what they ride on".
